Above $1000, high-performing laptops are referred to as premium or gaming laptops.

Suppose you are going to do programming and have started as a beginner, then 8GB of RAM will do much of the task, so for you it will not be insufficient but rather give you a good performance for doing programming.

So in that case, you can easily learn web development. You can go along with some general-purpose programming languages like Java, C++, Python, or even some other bits of Android programming.

But honestly speaking, this is not the best version of RAM you can get. This is just recommended for beginners. If you are just a beginner programmer and are trying to learn something, then a laptop or machine with 8GB of RAM will be pretty efficient enough.

If you go below that, there will be a lot of lag in efficiency and performance, so at least the minimum basic RAM that you should have in your laptop is 8 gigabytes.

But if you are working on some big projects and will be using virtual machines and emulators, then at that moment you are required to have at least 16 GB of RAM because these machines consume a lot of RAM.

Let’s say you’re a middle-of-the-road user craving some extra gusto and sleek operation; 16GB just might fit the bill for you! It happens to be quite a suitable chunk of RAM for both our office pros out there and those thrill-seeking gamers.

Now, for ultra-smooth gameplay, the general consensus is that sixteen whopping gigabytes of memory outshines a mere eight. This extra oomph enables you to run programs in the background and still enjoy your gaming experience without any hiccups.
