The matte black finish gives it that sleek, professional vibe and the design is classic ThinkPad. Open it up, and you’ll notice the redesigned keyboard with tactile bumps and a larger touchpad, making typing feel way more comfortable. Plus, the red dot in the center of the keyboard is a signature move, and the simple badging is clean and subtle.

The X1 Carbon Gen 12 sticks to that iconic ThinkPad look with a carbon fiber chassis that’s sturdy yet super light. It meets MIL-STD 810H durability standards, which is nice to know if you’re a bit rough on your gear. The new keyboard gives you better tactile feedback, and the touchpad’s larger, making it easier to navigate.

This laptop is designed for people who are always on the go. Whether you’re hopping between meetings or working from a café, the slim, light build makes it easy to carry around. You won’t even notice it’s in your bag.

Everything looks sharp, and the OS works well with the screen, making the whole experience feel smooth. Even the darks look surprisingly deep for a screen at this resolution.

The laptop had a tiny hiccup during a software update, but other than that, it’s been smooth sailing. In terms of battery life, I’ve managed to get up to 12 hours on moderate use. Even when running intensive programs, it usually lasts a full workday, and I still have juice left to make it to the next day’s charge.

The redesigned keyboard and larger touchpad really make a difference. I’m all for lightweight laptops, but it’s nice to have a keyboard and touchpad that are actually comfortable to use instead of constantly reaching for an external mouse and keyboard.

The port selection is solid, but I do wish there were USB-C ports on both sides for more flexibility. It’s not a deal-breaker, though.

Also, while it doesn’t have an SD card reader, it makes sense for a business laptop—not so much for creators but more for professionals who need a reliable work machine.

Lastly, the matte touchscreen helps keep fingerprints at bay and reduces glare, which is great if you’re working in bright places.

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED (2025) Business Laptop Under $900

Review:

The reliability of a laptop is integral for any class work, a meeting, or work done even remotely. This ASUS Zenbook 14 not only gets the fundamental aspects right, but takes it a notch further to ensure that the users do not have a hard time on the web.

For above $1000, it is packed with an attractive OLED display, lasts long on a single charge, and performs remarkably well with an Intel Core i7-7155H (2.5 GHz, 16 cores) embedded in it.

Paired with 16GB DDR5 SDRAM at a frequency of 7467 MHz, the Zenbook has a more improved performance, with quicker load times and no lags.

It’s compact but doesn’t skimp on features, with enough ports to connect your essentials, like headphones or an external mic.

Of course, no laptop is perfect. The battery life might drop during heavy use, like back-to-back Zoom calls.

The fan tends to kick in more often than expected, though it remains relatively quiet. You might need to take care of the steps to keep your laptop fast. And while the glossy OLED screen looks amazing, it can reflect light, which might be annoying in bright rooms.

In addition, this laptop is not meant for gamers or very demanding creators. If you require a laptop for rendering videos or playing high-end games, you will need a laptop with dedicated graphics cards.

It is not the most affordable choice either, which means that there are less expensive options if all you plan to do with the laptop is to participate in Zoom calls.

Now it does have some quirks. It is a little noisy, the amount of ports is not very extensive and sometimes the display acts up.

While these aren’t exactly show-stoppers, they may annoy a selective group of users. If you can accept these compromises, this specific Zenbook has a lot of bang for the buck.

2025 HP Pavilion Business Laptop with Webcam and FP Reader

Review:

HP is one of the key contenders in the laptop world and is among the best laptop brands that rank high when it comes to many buyers.

The HP Pavilion Business Laptop is great for business Zoom meetings, as the name suggests. 

The 15.6’’ FHD touchscreen display is really large and noticeably clear—a big touch screen that has good picture quality. You might want to keep a microfiber cloth nearby as the touchscreen tends to get a little greasy. 

The resolution is the bare minimum standard for most laptops, and the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels.

It produces good images and reasonable viewing angles. While the video quality in testing proved to be average it’s pretty reflective, which helps with contrast but can be annoying near windows. However, it performs well for online Zoom or Google Audio meetings.

Concerning the ports at hand, this HP still performed decently. There’s a USB Type-A on each side, a Type-C, full-size HDMI, even a microSD reader, and a headphone/mic combo for the Zoom meeting attendees, which is also quite useful.

The keyboard includes a full-sized number pad with decent key travel and minimal flex. In regards to typing, it is comfortable, but if you are in a dim environment, you may find it annoying that there are no backlit keys.

There is also a medium-sized trackpad below the keyboard, which gives a decent click and has a built-in fingerprint reader for convenience.

As for performance, it is excellent. Being powered by a 13th-generation Intel Core i7-1355U processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, it makes multitasking look simple. 

From running a number of applications to dealing with large copies of files, everything is responsive and fast. Nonetheless, it is not a laptop for gaming or rigorous 3D rendering.

The Intel Iris Xe graphics are adequate for normal tasks, but it will not be able to do any demanding work with great graphics. 

Now, this is very disappointing: the battery. Do not expect to get through a whole day of work. You will be able to get 6 and a half hours approximately on average, which is not impressive in a laptop of this size.

Yes, it is better than certain laptops, but we expected more. 

The good part? It is quick to charge, reaching 50% in about half an hour. So, while you might have to plug in quite often, you at least will not remain tethered for an extended period.

For students and small business owners who attend audio or video classes or meetings, it is equally wonderful because it works reasonably well in such situations.

What is particularly nice is how easy it is to upgrade. All that’s required is removing the bottom panel and it is possible to upgrade 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD.

For those who wish to always be ready for the next big thing, this is a huge advantage. 

The AMD Ryzen 7 5825U processor is hard to beat when it comes to productivity apps and multitasking. Even while managing spreadsheets, attending Zoom conferences, or doing some simple image processing, this 8-core chip performs any task seamlessly. 

The 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD eliminated any pauses for loading data, which means you don’t have to wait for long for loading screens.

The Lenovo V15 Gen 4 is a business laptop with great performance and outstanding battery life, all at a very competitive price.

As soon as you take the Lenovo V15 out of its packaging, it is obvious that this is indeed a business laptop. The black polycarbonate construction allows the laptop to basically look professional when it is meant to be looking so. 

The device weighs just 3.64 pounds—a very comfortable weight for a device that has to be moved around regularly. The hinge mechanism also enables the screen to open completely to 180 degrees, which helps in situations like presentations or group projects.

However, the polycarbonate material has a tendency to scratch over time, so a bit of care is needed to maintain its clean look. The keyboard deck is solid, with minimal flex, and the hinges are sturdy, ensuring no wobble while typing.

The size of the screen is appropriate for most work-related tasks, having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels on a 15.6-inch full HD display. The display is well suited for video calls, data entry tasks, or making presentations.

Nonetheless, viewing angles are quite restricted, giving way to subpar display. Due to having a low NTSC coverage of only 45%, this display is not well suited for color-accurate work, such as video editing or graphic design.

Considering Zoom meetings or classes remotely, this is quite a suitable device for the business audience. Appearing letters and illustrations are additionally clear, as the anti-glare coating limits reflections in the lighter conditions.

On the contrary, if you work and stream multimedia-rich content or enjoy colors on screen that are deep and vibrant, this display may not be suitable for you.

The 720p webcam is average and performs reasonably during Zoom meetings and video calls. Yet, while testing, sometimes the app froze and the webcam was not always performing consistently.

If, however, video quality is of utmost importance during your meetings, perhaps an external cam would serve you better.

The audio is below average, and the speakers are flat and weak. On the bright side, however, Lenovo provides the Dolby Audio application, which allows you to adjust the audio preferences a bit.

Headphones or external speakers are suggested to provide a much clearer and more complete experience.

Compared to most of its competitors priced within the same ballpark, the Lenovo V15 comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, 40GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1 TB SSD and performs stunningly well.

Multitasking is effortless—you can open dozens of tabs, applications, and even Zoom all at once and not feel a single lag.

Thermals are good, with the temperatures not exceeding 70°C even with heavy workloads. Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics are no replacement for a dedicated GPU, but they do an adequate job for non-demanding graphical tasks and routine usage.

One of the appealing properties of the Lenovo V15 is the inclusion of a full-sized keyboard. There’s a numeric keypad, which is good for data entry and business-related tasks. 

The keys are tactile, responsive, and comfortable to type on, but a lot of users will feel disappointed by the absence of backlight if they work in less lit conditions.

The trackpad is decent, supporting Windows Precision drivers for smooth and accurate tracking. It’s not the largest but is functional for most tasks.

Connectivity is a strong point, with a variety of ports to accommodate professional needs:

Of course, not everything is perfect. The TN panel display is enough for a regular person looking to be productive but it lacks the needed color accuracy and intensity for someone looking to do creative work.

The quality of the webcam and audio output is just average but still functional for most users, making it suitable for basic video calls and meetings. However, if you’re looking for superior video and audio performance, you may want to consider models with higher-end features for a more polished experience.

The answer would be yes in most cases, as long as you do not compromise on the basic requirements of the device, like internet connectivity, a decent webcam, and adequate processing power.
